[2016 CSA Week 17]
We got lots covered and brought in over the weekend to be prepared for the frost on Sunday night. It was worth the energy, because we did get some good patches in certain parts of the fields.
Make sure to wash your greens first as our salad spinner has been busted. We are getting it up and running again, but as always, it is best to wash first.
This may be the last week or two for tomatoes as the high tunnel plants are getting diseased and we need to make way for our winter crops to go in. We hope you have enjoyed them, they sure were beautiful. We have another planting that has not ripened yet, and we aren't sure if they will this late in the game, but thought we would test the limits in an unheated tunnel. We will see!
This week's share...
- Acorn Squash (we will have maple syrup for sale to accompany this fall treat)
- Swiss Chard
- Salad Mix for cutting up or cooking down as they are big leaves
