Work Song Farm is owned and operated by Dan and Abigail Dixon Kilrain.

After spending eight years learning from other farmers and experimenting on our own, we have found a little piece of paradise to start the farm of our dreams!

Dan, a Canterbury native, has been involved in organic agriculture for the past seven years.  Most recently, for three years, he has managed the farm at Webster Place Recovery Center, a 40 resident addiction recovery facility in Franklin, NH.  He has also worked as a gardener at Canterbury Shaker Village; apprenticed at organic vegetable farms in Maine and upstate New York; and started a market garden in Canterbury, selling produce at the Concord and Henniker farmers markets.  Dan was the Market Manager for the Canterbury Community Farmers Market in 2007, its inaugural year.

Abby spent her childhood in Tilton playing with her two older brothers and helping her parents in their backyard and garden. She grew up and went to Burlington, Vt where she went to college, worked in a bakery and tended her own plot in a local community garden. Wanting to be closer to her family, she traveled home, worked in a commercial greenhouse and helped at a local farm in Belmont for five years. Abby recently worked at a florist in Laconia for six years where she was able to immerse herself in the beauty of flowers.
